Rumors: Foxconn OLED to Enter Production in 2016

Foxconn might start small scale OLED production in 2016, according to a Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun report.

The company established a subsidiary in Japan last year, Foxconn Japan R&D, focusing in research and development of OLED panels. The subsidiary aims to start OLED production in 2016, according to the report.

Foxconn Japan R&D is said to focus in OLED display with the pixel density of 400 ppi, 5-inch, which can be applied to smartphones and wearables. 

The subsidiary is also said to be in collaboration with Innolux in manufacturing OLED panel.
