AOT Market Listing Poses Threat to Everlight

Taiwanese manufacturer Advanced Optoelectronic Technology (AOT) announced the company has been listed as of July 9, 2014, according to the Economic Daily News, with the backing of two strong parent companies which include Hon Hai and Nichia. AOT poses a threat to Taiwan based rival Everlight. It is estimated that Everlight’s net income will reach NT $5 per share this year, while AOT’s will approach NT $6 per share.

AOT’s main investors include Hon Hai Group, Innolux, and Nichia. The company mainly focuses on the packaging industry, providing LED product application for smartphones, LCD TVs, and panel computer backlighting. Although AOT is Everlight’s direct competitor, Everlight provides a broader product portfolio which allows the company to spread out competition risks.

AOT has maintained profitable performance since 2010. The company’s earnings per share (EPS) reached NT $5.29  last year, ranking top among LED manufacturers. The second half of 2014 will be better than the first, so the company anticipates further growth in profits, said AOT Chairman Zhuang Hongren.
