Eon Electric Installs 33K LED Streetlights in Indian City Jodhpur

India-based Eon Electric Limited (EEL), a manufacturer of energy-efficient LED lighting products, has secured an extended LED streetlight installation contract aimed at replacing conventional streetlights with LEDs in Jodhpur.

As part of the extended project, Eon will install an additional 33,153 LED streetlights in the city, The Economic Times reported the company stating.

The project is part of Rajasthan government’s initiative to cut energy consumption by replacing conventional lights with LEDs.

The streetlights were installed with control system, which monitors and reports satisfactory performance and energy conservation of these LED streetlights.

The company has secured contracts to install LED streetlights in Jodhpur and Aligarh earlier this year.

Earlier this year, Eon Electric had secured contracts to install LED streetlights at Jodhpur and Aligarh.

In total, the company will be installing 60,000 LED streetlights in Jodhpur and 13,000 in Aligarh, according to a company statement released in April 2015.

In total, the two contracts value INR 510 million (US $7.69 million), reported Zee Media.
