Everlight Refutes Nichia’s YAG Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against WOFI

Everlight claims Nichia’s recent press release about its lawsuit against its German subsidiary WOFI was taken out of context, especially regarding the YAG patent lawsuit rulings.

The press release issued through public relations company PR Trends International Marketing misled media with statements that deviated from court rulings, stated Everlight. The Taiwanese LED manufacturer is considering taking legal action, and has consulted lawyers on the matter.

German court rulings invalidated Nichia’s EP 936 682 patent upon Everlight’s request, but the Nichia press release made no mention of this. This missing piece of information could have misled the public, added Everlight. The company reserves its rights to take legal action against Nichia.
