Pirated Philips LED bulbs were found in Yinshang County, Anhui Province, China, according to a statement released by the local Market and Quality Supervision Commission.
The Dutch lighting giant notified Yinshan County officials that a retail shop was selling fake Philips LED luminaires that infringed its registered trademark.
Local police officers and representatives from Philips anti-counterfeiting department found five boxes of LED bulbs at the suspected retail shop, each box contained 100 counterfeited LED bulbs. They also found 10 LED bulbs labelled with the Philips logo installed on top of shelf where the counterfeited goods were stored.
The Philips representative confirmed on site that the above described products were counterfeited items that had infringed the company trademark.
The counterfeited case is still under investigation.
