Konka Launches Micro LED TVs “Smart Wall”, Confronting Samsung “The Wall”

Konka Group from China hold a product launch event on October 31 and introduced its latest Micro LED display products including a 118-inch 4K TV, a 117-inch 6K TV and a 236-inch 8K TV under the brand name “APHAEA.”

Konka called its Micro LED TV product “Smart Wall,” aiming to challenge Samsung’s “The Wall.” The Micro LED displays of Konka are also modular display that can be customized into different shapes and sizes.

The Smart Wall TVs use more than 100 million Micro LED chips to reach a brightness of 2000 nits and high contrast of 10 million: 1 as well as wide color gamut of 147%. The pitch size of Smart Wall is P0.68, which is even smaller than Samsung’s P0.83mm. In addition, Smart Wall support 5G connection.

The company also revealed the prices of its Micro LED TVs. The 118-inch 4K TV costs RMB 1.68 million (US$ 238,694) and the 236-inch 8K TV is RMB 8.88 million (US$1.26 million). Konka’s Smart Wall is about 30% cheaper than Samsung’s The Wall for displays with similar resolution.
