LG announced 3Q financial report

LG Electronics’ consolidated revenues reached 13.4 trillion (US$ 11.3 billion) for 3Q10, a 2% decline year on year, and Net profit was 8 billion.

Benefiting from improved LCD TV sales, especially in emerging markets, LG Home Entertainment revenues grew 9% on year. 6.6 million units of Flat-panel TVs were shipped, up 37% year on year. Sales were 5.4 trillion won and operating profit was 123 billion won.

Mobile Communications revenues for LG decreased by 30% year on year, resulting from a decline in handset shipments. The company shipped 28.4 million handsets in 3Q, which resulted in a 32% decline in sales.

LG Home Appliance sales were 2.8 trillion won and operating profit was 67 billion won, which increased 9% year on year. Overseas markets sales grew 17% year on year, because of OEM business expansion in the North American market and peak season promotions in India and China. LG Air Conditioning sales increased 35% year on year to 1.1 trillion.

LG Business Solutions remain the same. The company would continue to invest in its B2B infrastructure, including commercial air conditioners, and new opportunities for its LED lighting and solar power businesses to generate a long-term foundation for growth. Meanwhile, The Company expected sales of car infotainment products and profitability growth in the coming months with upcoming launches of premium monitors, commercial displays and hotel TVs.
