Leyard Heads the Pack in LED TV Small Pitch Display Manufacturing

Leyard has become the global leading manufacturer for LED small pitch TV displays. The company currently has a market share of 80 percent for 2.5mm and below small pitch displays, according to a recent report by Everbright Securities.

Leyard benefitted from the substantial growth in demand for LED TV small pitch displays. The company’s 2013 revenue reached RMB 780 million (US $127 million), growth of 37 percent, and net profit of RMB 80 million, increase of 37 percent. Revenue for 4Q13 was RMB 340 million with a net profit of RMB 36.45 million, considerable growth of 92 percent and 94 percent respectively. Leyard also acquired Guangdong Kamtatlighting last year for RMB 200 million, which will increase their strength in the lighting sector.

In China, 90 percent of the company’s advertising method is through direct marketing. Clients include military command, public safety, resources, and traffic regulation. The company also has more opportunities in the broadcasting field this year thanks to the acquisition of HLYD last November. Leyard’s overseas market growth doubled over the past few years. They are relying on landmarks such as the BMW headquarters and Huston Toyota Center to expand brand recognition. The company has continued to release LED TV displays with 4k and 2k resolution specs and plans of gradually moving towards the civilian market.

Orders for LED small pitch TV displays are estimated to continue to increase. Production capacity in 2012 was RMB 200 million and rose to RMB 300 million in 2013. It is anticipated to further increase to RMB 500 million this year. The company plans to establish a fully automated LED TV display production line in the Yizhuang area in Beijing by this July. The production capacity for this factory will be three times larger than the current capacity for the company’s Shenzhen factory which is 800kk per day. This will effectively guarantee the company’s supplying capability.
