New Offshore LED Rig Light Fixture from Larsons Electronics

The HAL-24-3L-LED-BMSW Hazardous Area LED Light Fixture from Larson Electronics is a compact yet powerful explosion proof approved fixture designed to provide high reliability and excellent resistance to the corrosive effects of the marine environment. This 2-foot-long fixture is equipped with 3 high output fluorescent style LED tube lamps to produce a compact yet powerful fixture that can be mounted in space limited areas without compromising on light output.

The fixture housing is constructed of copper free aluminum for light weight and high strength, and a tough powder coat provides excellent protection against corrosion. A hinged door with shatterproof acrylic lens protects the lamp assembly and is secured in place with four zinc coated steel latches. A heavy gauged aluminum reflector provides added efficiency and is coated with a high gloss finish for maximum performance. A ½ inch threaded conduit opening provides a secure means of connection, and a pair of swivel mount brackets allows operators to secure the fixture to flat surfaces and adjust the light for optimal coverage of the work area. This fixture can be run on voltages ranging from 120 to 277 VAC and is available in 12 or 24 volt DC configurations for use with low voltage direct current.

This LED light fixture has no ballast, which reduces maintenance requirements and weight as well as improves reliability. The LED tubes have a 50,000-hour rated operational life, over twice that of standard T8 fluorescent tubes, which combined with ballast free operation makes this fixture a far more reliable and durable alternative to standard fluorescent fixtures. This explosion proof LED light carries Class 1 Division 2 Groups A, B, C and D approval, UL 595 outdoor marine type approval, UL 1598 marine approval, and is ideal for offshore rig platforms where high light output, high reliability, and the ability to operate in areas where flammable petrochemical gases and vapors may be present is required.

“The HAL-24-3L-LED-BMWS series represents our powerful linear Class 1 Division 2 LED rig lights for corrosive hazardous locations,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ LarsonElectronics.com. “With the advent of three LED tubes, swiveling bracket mount, and compact design this fixture is welcomed in a multitude of applications in the oil and offshore industry.”
