SemiLEDs announced its financial results for the third quarter of its fiscal year 2020, ended May 31, 2020.
The company posted revenues of US$1.6 million for the third quarter of FY 2020, which increased by 2% comparing to the previous quarter. GAAP net loss attributable to SemiLEDs stockholders for the third quarter of fiscal 2020 was $513 thousand, compared to a gain of $348 thousand in the second quarter of fiscal 2020, or a net loss of $0.14 per diluted share, compared to a net gain of $0.08 per diluted share for the second quarter of fiscal 2020.
GAAP gross margin for the third quarter of fiscal 2020 was 27%, compared with gross margin for the second quarter of fiscal 2020 of 36%. Operating margin for the third quarter of fiscal 2020 was negative 47%, compared with negative 26% in the second quarter of fiscal 2020. The Company’s cash and cash equivalents was $2.5 million at May 31, 2020, compared to $3.2 million at the end of the second quarter of fiscal 2020.
SemiLEDs said that it was not able to forecast revenue for its fourth quarter of fiscal 2020 which is ending on August 31, 2020, given the impact of COVID-19 on the economy and the Company.
