Samsung Electronics said on May 10 it released the latest QLED TVs in Vietnam, seeking to penetrate deeper into a market with considerable demand for large displays.

The South Korean tech giant said the Vietnamese market is attractive as it has been posting two-digit annual growth every year since 2012, with the upward trend likely to continue for the time being.

Samsung said it accounted for 50 percent of the market for TVs sized 65 inches and above in Vietnam over the first quarter. The company also secured 40 percent of the country's combined TV market over the January-March period in terms of sales, it added.

"Samsung has been introducing new products that combine innovative technologies with local lifestyles," the tech giant said in a statement.

The 2018 edition of Samsung's QLED TVs feature the "AI 4K Q Engine," which delivers optimized resolution through its five-step algorithm. Samsung said the engine will improve low-quality videos into near-4K resolution.

The new TVs' "magic screens" also display various things, from news to photos, even when not in use. Samsung said the feature is especially welcomed by consumers in Southeast Asia, where weather conditions change frequently.
