Macroblock Adopts Leading Clock Reverse Engine in New RGB LED Driver

Macroblock adopts the leading clock reverse engine in the newly launched 3-channel constant current LED driver, MBI6020, to assure the transmission reliability for LED architectural lighting applications.

LED architectural lighting systems require reliable and long-distance transmission. However, signal transmission is usually and discretely variable over time or significant distances. MBI6020, with leading clock reverse engine, enhances the long-distance transmission performances of LED architectural lighting systems.

MBI6020 also applies A-Token topology with self-alignment addressing to ensure the accuracy of image data transmission. Therefore, MBI6020 is specifically designed for LED architectural lighting applications such as LED curtains or LED strips, channel letters and neon replacement projects.

MBI6020 provides clock reverse engine and parity check function to enhance the transmission reliability. Clock reverse function helps to balance the duty ratio of clock and allows cascading more MBI6020 without suffering the signal distortion or degradation due to the transmission. Parity check function avoids signal errors for even robust transmission. Moreover, MBI6020 also enhances the output capability with built-in buffer to extend the transmission distance. Therefore, MBI6020 may cascade up to 1,024 RBG LED clusters or large LED pixels.

In addition to the improvements on transmission, MBI6020 is designed with S-PWM technology to provide 16-bit gray scales at a low clock frequency of 4MHz, so that MBI6020 may perform billions of color with a reduced data transmission bandwidth. Besides, MBI6020 provides constant output current range from 5mA to 50mA for each output channel and support 3.3V and 5V power systems. The sustaining voltage is 17V at output channels.
