Sunovia's Cobra Head LED Roadway Fixtures are First to Achieve Six (6) Mounting Heights Spacing

Sunovia Energy Technologies, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has achieved six mounting heights spacing with its proprietary Cobra Head LED lighting product line. The six mounting heights achievement is unprecedented, and allows Sunovia to immediately begin replacing roadway fixtures with its new high-efficiency LED fixtures without the cost of installing additional light poles. Sunovia will also install retro-fit LED engines into existing Cobra Head housings, thus allowing customers to further reduce costs by simply replacing the antiquated luminaire with Sunovia's more efficient LED luminaire.

United States Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune has purchased 1,092 of the new EvoLucia(TM)-brand fixtures, which are scheduled to be delivered in mid-October 2009. The project calls for the replacement of the 100W and 250W high-pressure sodium lights with EvoLucia 75W and 105W cobra head fixtures on roads throughout the 246-square mile Camp Lejeune property. The EvoLucia fixtures will reduce energy consumption by approximately 50 percent and reduce carbon emissions at Camp Lejeune by 22.5 tons per year. Further, the EvoLucia LED cobra heads are maintenance-free and require no bulb replacement for up to 12 years.

The EvoLucia(TM) LED Cobra Head fixtures meet all IES roadway standards, and the company recently submitted numerous samples to domestic municipalities and foreign countries for inspection. The new EvoLucia(TM) fixture is the first LED Cobra Head in the industry to reach six mounting heights. The fixture was developed utilizing Sunovia's proprietary "aimed optics" platform and leading thermal management technologies. The company's proprietary "aimed optics" platform allows company designers to develop unique fixtures that precisely focus light to a specified location, virtually eliminating glare and light pollution. By combining the precisely aimed optics technologies with advanced thermal management techniques, the company achieves a higher light utilization that illuminates targeted areas more efficiently. This is particularly important for roadway lighting applications as increased visibility is critical to roadway safety. EvoLucia's "aimed optics" direct illumination method also allows the fixtures to meet Dark Sky guidelines and LEED certification requirements by minimizing light trespass, reducing sky-glow, and reducing the impact on nocturnal and wildlife environments.
