Authorities in Zhejiang Province, China reported seizing nearly 8,000 counterfeited Opple LED tubes valuing RMB 176,760 (US $28,483.03), reported Nanhu Evening News.
The Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Jiaxing Nanhu District in Zhejiang Province, China. In late March this year, the bureau found nearly 7,980 crude looking Opple LED tubes in ugly wrapped packages in three rooms of a flat in Nanhu district. The boxes were unlabeled, and after bureau officials temporarily detained the products, they sent the samples to Opple’s headquarters based in Shanghai for further evaluations.
Based on the company evaluations, the 4,920 YDW36-H.RR LED tubes and 3,060 YDW36-H.RR LED tubes detained had infringed Opple’s registered trademark. According to information provided by Opple, the LED tubes value RMB 176,760.
According to regulations in China, vendors will be prosecuted if they knowingly sell fake products valuing more than RMB 150,000. Currently, the case is being processed by Nanhu police department.
