On August 7, LED companies Epistar and Lextar held an extraordinary shareholders meeting to pass the share conversion of both companies to the new holding company, ENNOSTAR. The members of the board of directors, supervisors and chairman of ENNOSTAR were also elected.
As expected, Epistar holds three seats in the board of directors, Lextar takes one seat and its parent company AUO gets one seat as well. The members of the board of director include Biing-Jye Lee, Chairman of Epistar; Chin-Yung Fan, President of Epistar; Shih-Shien Chang, Vice President of Epistar; Paul Peng, Chairman and CEO of AUO and David Su, Chairman of Lextar. Among them, Biing-Jye Lee was appointed as Chairman of ENNOSTAR.

Leaders of the display industry in Taiwan covering LED chips, package and panel manufacturers represent in the board of directors of ENNOSTAR, marking their ambition to expand the market share in the field of novel display technologies Micro LED and Mini LED. Through integration, these companies are going to leverage their expertise in the supply chain and accelerate technology development.
Biing-Jye Lee noted that clients tend to focus on customized products with Micro LED and Mini LED technologies. As a result, if specification for each component can be defined and set by the system providers, ENNOSTAR will be able to provide a comprehensive solution with the next-gen display technologies.
According to the forecast of Lee, the market is going to see booming Mini LED applications starting 2021 and the technology will grow rapidly in the coming years. Micro LED will take another 3 to 4 years to get more mature and is going to follow the heat of Mini LED.
