European Commission Recalls Chinese LED Strips for Shock Hazards

The European Commission released a rapid alert system for non-food dangerous products (RAPEX) notification for Chinese product Goobay’s LED Strip Flexible Waterproof with 150 RG SMD LEDs. Notifying country was Finland.

Shock hazzard risk noted in caution disclaimer. 

The LED strip, model number 30560, has been recalled due to electric shock hazards. According to the RAPEX report, the power supply unit for the product could cause electrical shock due to insufficient insulation and insufficient clearance distance between the primary and secondary circuits. The product does not comply with European standard EN 60598-1 or requirements of the Low Voltage Directive. 

The product has been withdrawn from the market and recalled from end users.
