If you have ever done any night fishing or been in a tent after dark and wanted some light, but didn't want to lug around a heavy flashlight or large lantern, there's now an answer.
Coghlan's, a Canadian company that's been in business for nearly 50 years, has developed a LED "Micro Lantern." It weighs less than an ounce and stands just two inches high, yet is bright enough to light up a 6.5-foot circle, meaning you can stick it in your pocket, then light up your tent later.
With a carbineer clip, it can go on a key ring, hang from a tent pole or backpack, or clip onto a fishing vest. It's powered by two lithium batteries and can shine for 25 hours on continuous mode or for 50 hours in emergency strobe mode. The lantern features a water-resistant frame and a rubber on/off button. Suggested retail price is $7.98. For information: write Coghlan's Ltd., 121 Irene St., Winnipeg, MB, Canada, R3T 4C7; call toll- 1-877-264-4526.
