LiDAR sensor developer Quanergy Systems shared that its new generation QORTEX People Counter solution can deliver over 98% accuracy from pitch dark or indoor to very bright lighting conditions in full sun light. By combining the system with Quanergy’s LiDAR product, a wide range of flow management can be deployed to enhance security and safety in public areas especially at the critical time of reopen.
According Quanergy, QORTEX People Counter provides information about the flow and number of people in retail stores, public transportation centers, stadiums, venues accurately and anonymously.
As many people are returning to normal lifestyle but the COVID-19 crisis is still going, effectively managing places where people come and go become crucial.

The company’s occupancy management package integrated with Quanergy’s LiDAR-based S3-2 QORTEX People Counter solution to provide high accuracy in counting and measuring population density in an area. This gives safety and security operators the information they need to quickly take action in compliance with occupancy guidelines and help ensure customer health and safety.
With the solution, retail stores, public transportation, stadiums can perform accurate counting of people to manage store capacity for social distancing. For outdoor venues, the QORTEX People Counter can still detect people’s activities despite different lighting conditions of the environment.
