A new 114-inch Micro LED smart TV from Samsung has been launched in the Republic of Korea. The “ultra-premium” model is said to have several benefits over an OLED TV, including a higher brightness level and no screen burn-in. However, the product has an exceptionally high price tag due to the panel technology.

Samsung has announced a 114-inch Micro LED TV in the Republic of Korea. The model is described as “ultra-premium”, with a particularly high price tag to reflect this, and is said to be the largest TV of its kind in the market. The company already sells other Micro LED models, like this 110-inch TV, which was revealed in 2020.
The Samsung TV panel comprises individually controlled micrometer-sized LEDs. Each Micro LED produces color and light, meaning a backlight and color filter are unnecessary. According to Samsung, this technology delivers the “best picture quality”. Micro LED over OLED advantages include removing screen burn-in, brighter colors, and higher brightness levels. While the peak brightness level of the 114-in model remains unclear, an 89-inch Micro LED TV from Samsung offers up to 2,000 nits brightness consistently across the display.
You can now buy the Samsung 114-inch Micro LED TV in the Republic of Korea for 180 million won (~$132,500). Customers who purchase the model will receive a free 85-inch Neo QLED 8K QN900D TV (retailing in the US for $7,999.99) and a JBL L100 MK2 speaker discount. It is unclear whether or when this larger model could launch in other regions.
