Chile Security Certification for General Lighting LED Lights to Go into Effect in October 2013

In line with the Energy Department of Chile, the 1649 regulations which released on September 11th, 2012, the general lighting security and energy efficiency certification program will come into effect for LED lights on October 1st, 2013.

In addition, according to Regulation No. 3623 released on December 28th 2011, domestic and similar general lighting security and energy efficiency certification program will also be came into effect on October 1st 2013.

The energy efficiency certification standards for domestic as well as ordinary LED lights are IEC60357: 2002 + A1: 2006 + A2: 2008, and IEC/PAS62612: 2009-06, the energy efficiency label certification procedure is as follows:

Electrical product safety and performance analysis and/or testing procedures – domestic and general lighting purposes (PEN ° 5/15/02)

Electrical product safety and performance analysis and/or testing procedures – general lighting with LED lights (PEN ° 5/17/02)

Domestic and similar general lighting purposes as well as ordinary lighting with LED lights safety certification standards are IEC60432-2: 2005 and IEC60432-1: 2005, and IEC62560 :2011-02, safety certification procedures are as follows:

Electrical product safety and performance analysis and/or testing procedures – domestic and similar general lighting purposes (PEN ° 5/15)

Electrical product safety and performance analysis and/or testing procedures – general lighting with LED lights (PEN ° 5/17)
