Taiwan International Lighting Show Grandly Opened on March 13

The Taiwan International Lighting Show has grandly opened at the Taipei World Trade Center on March 13 and been lasting until March 16.

It is the third year that the show to provide such a greatly import platform for buyers from around the world to the expo featuring LED lighting and home-grown innovations.

According to Walter Yeh, executive vice president of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), one of the organizers of the show, this year, the show has gained recognition with LED manufacturers, evidenced by the rise in the number of participating companies.

A record 321 lighting equipment manufacturers are manning 782 booths at the show, up from 634 booths last year and 404 booths in 2010.  At the invitation of TAITRA, 1,200 buyers from 70 countries are expected to attend.

Additionally, the show also features the conjunction of the annual meetings of the Global Lighting Association and the International Commission on Illumination-Taiwan, in which attendees will explore the future trends of the lighting industry and push for the alignment of local specifications with international ones.
