Samsung 42-inch LED-backlit models’ price would cut down to US$599

With the LED TV development, the demand for LCD TV became weaker, which brought a price war for vendors to stimulate market demand. In North America market, it is reported that LCD TVs vendors started to cut down the price for a 32-inch LCD TVs, especially in Wal-Mart, the price for a 32-inch model was only US$199.

Market sources noted that Samsung planed to launch a series of price reductions for LED-backlit LCD TVs. Prices for 40- to 42-inch entry-level LED-backlit models were expected to drop by 40% to about US$499-599. But, in retail channels such as Wal-Mart and Best Buy, Samsung's major promotional focus seemed to be on CCFL-backlit models.

Other brand vendors noted, as a leader vender in LCD TV market, Samsung should not cut prices for LED-backlit TVs, which brought them worried about 3D and Internet TVs, LED-backlit TVs in the future.
