Metropolitan Wi-Fi firm Connexin has secured up to a £10m investment to rapidly scale up and expand its smart cities business.

OLED patent holder Samsung Electronics now also steps into the realm of Micro LED, reported the Investor. It is also looking to acquire PlayNitride, a Taiwan-based Micro LED developer in an attempt to offset the sluggish sales of its QLED TVs.

Epistar's major stockholder Xiamen San’an Optoelectronics announced on September 27 that it has sold all of its 3.05% share of Epistar. San’an lately sold 33.306 million shares of Epistar in a block trade, gaining NTD 1.244 billion (USD 41.01 million) after deducting the transaction fee.

Revolution Lighting Technologies on 22nd September provided an update to its projected third and fourth quarter results, and revised its full year guidance. As a result of recent hurricane activity in Texas and the south east impacting our multifamily lighting revenue, and the slippage of a number of our Energy Source division projects from the third quarter to the fourth quarter, our third quarter results will be negatively impacted.

On September 22, 2017 (CDT), Nitride Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Delphi Automotive PLC has signed a commercial partnership agreement with LeddarTech, a Canadian company developing solid-state LiDAR technology.

Israeli-based LiDAR developer Innoviz Technologies announced in early September that it has raised $65 million in Series B funding as its groundbreaking LiDAR solution moves into mass production. Ultravision International, a US-based manufacturer and distributor of LED displays and LED lighting, and American Lighting Technologies, dba Lighting Technologies, have reached a mutual agreement to resolve Ultravision v Lighting Technologies and dismiss two patent infringement litigations pending in the U.S. Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
