Amtran posts financial reports for October

Taiwan LCD TV maker Amtran Technology October revenues were NT$6.12 billion (US$202.65 million), up 10.7% sequentially and 13.4% on year. The whole revenues in the first ten months of 2010 totaled NT$49.01 billion, down 5.28%. Its consolidated revenues for October go to NT$7.2 billion, up 14.44%. The whole revenues in the first ten months of 2010 totaled NT$57.77 billion, up 8.74%.

In the first three quarters of 2010, the company’s LCD TV shipmates totaled almost 3.6 million, in which 3Q shipment achieved above one million units. LED-backlit TVs shipment for 3Q increased to 27% from 10-15% in the first half of 2010, and share of 47- and 55-inch models in 3Q was 16%.

The production shipment mainly focused on 32- to 42-inch models which accounted for 74% in the total flat-panel TV shipments, while large-size 47- and 55-inch models increased to 20% and LED-backlit models was 20.21% and 10.37% for IPTVs.

Look ahead, Amtran was optimistically with 4Q shipment and excepted shipment went up to five million LCD TVs in 2010.
