Amtran Technology expected its revenues would reach NT$100 billion (US$3.34 billion) in 2011, with subsidiary Raken Technology completing capacity expansion in 2011 and bringing annual revenues to US$3 billion.

The whole revenues in the first ten months of 2010 totaled NT$49.01 billion, down 5.28%. Its consolidated revenues for October go to NT$7.2 billion, up 14.44%. The whole revenues in the first ten months of 2010 totaled NT$57.77 billion, up 8.74%.

LCD TV maker Amtran Technology posted 3Q revenue of NT$15.27 billion, up 6% quarter-over-quarter and 5% year-over-year, with EPS of NT$0.63. Operating profit stood at NT$0.438 billion, with the operating margin of 2.87%. Net profit stood at NT$0.49 billion, with EPS of NT$0.63. Gross profit arrived at NT$2.049 billion, with the gross margin of 13.42%. In the first three quarters, accumulated revenues totaled NT$42.863 billion, and net profit reached NT$1.356 billion, with EPS of NT$1.77.

Thanks to amid vendors actively replenishing inventory and launching promotions ahead of schedule to boost market demand, Amtran Technology reported September revenues had been up 22.2% sequentially to NT$5.53 billion (US$180.06 million) and 4.1% compared for 2009.Revenues for 3Q had totaled NT$15.2 billion, up about 5% sequentially.
In September, LED-backlit LCD TV shipment share increased from 12% in the first half of 2010 up to 20% of its total shipments, overall flat-panel TV shipments in 3Q reached 1.05-1.1 million units.

LG Display (LGD) and AmTRAN Technology recently jointly invested in Formosa Epitaxy Inc., a Taiwan-based LED chipmaker, according to an article on Taiwan Economic News.
LG Display and AmTRAN have co-invested NT$2 billion (US$62 million at US$1:NT$33) in the LED chipmaker by acquiring 18-19% stake in Formosa, industry watchers said.
