Amtran Technology expected its revenues would reach NT$100 billion (US$3.34 billion) in 2011, with subsidiary Raken Technology completing capacity expansion in 2011 and bringing annual revenues to US$3 billion.
A leader of the company noted, 4Q10 would be the most profitable period in 2010 following record sales in November and strong performance in December. And it made Amtran overtake Samsung Electronics as the top TV vendor in North America in 3Q, and it is likely to retain its ranking in 4Q.
In North American, consumers had become more prices sensitive and new models by TV vendors did not translate to sales, followed the US economy slowly recovering from the recession. But in china, consumers were becoming more receptive to new innovations, and hence, China's LED market in 2011 would see explosive growth.
Also, When Raken, which was a joint venture with LG Display based in Suzhou, China, completed capacity expansion in March of 2011, the subsidiary would have TV and monitor capacity of 1 million units and 800,000 units a month, respectively, and revenues would jump from US$1.8 billion in 2010 to US$3 billion.
At present, the shipment for LED TV had a 20% share in Amtran's TV shipments, and the LED TV's shipment proportion was expected to reach 30% in 2011 as the LED monitors already represent more than 90% of the company's monitor shipments. Amtran's 4Q EPS would be above NT$1, up from NT$0.6 in 3Q, and full-year EPS for 2010 was expected to about NT$3.
