Ledman Opto’s LED Revenue from Sports Applications to Soar in 2015

Ledman Opto will be building on its LED package, display, lighting and energy saving service foundation to expand its operations in soccer and other sports applications, said the company’s Chairman Mantie Li at a 2014 financial result briefing.

The company’s revenue was up 15.58% in 2014 to RMB 405 million (US $13.19 million), and profit attributable to shareholders soared 47.85% to RMB 25.77 million.

In terms of revenue shares, LED displays had a 50% revenue share, LED lighting 20%, LED package 20%, sports applications 5%, and other applications 5%.

“Following the company’s business strategy implementation, the company’s 2015 product revenue will grow steadily,” said Li. “Sports application revenues are estimated to make the largest contributions in 2015.”

Ledman Opto implemented a dual strategy in LED and sports businesses. On the one hand the company has strengthened its LED business in LED display, lighting and package in both in-house R&D as well as acquisition. On the other hand, the company has been aggressively developing in the sports sector to acquire leading market position in China’s Super League and China Football Association Professional League market shares. The company is cultivating China’s soccer supply chain, while expanding into other sports applications.
