Nichia Files Two Patent Infringement Lawsuits against TTE Technology and TCL Multimedia in U.S.

On August 8, 2016, Nichia Corporation ("Nichia") filed two patent infringement lawsuitss against TTE Technology, a U.S. based LCD TV distributor, and TCL Multimedia Technology in two district courts in U.S.

The first suit filed against TTE Technology, a US-based LCD TV distributer, and TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings, an LCD TV manufacturer and a parent company of TTE Technology, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.

In this lawsuit, Nichia alleges that the defendants have infringed Nichia’s U.S. Patents Nos. 7,855,092, 7,901,959, 7,915,631 and 8,309,375. Nichia seeks an injunction directed to the sale and distribution of infringing LCD TVs, such as the “48”LED TV (48FD2700).” Nichia also seeks damages for defendants' past infringement.

On the same date, Nichia also filed a separate patent infringement complaint against TTE Technology and TCl Multimedia in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. In this lawsuit, Nichia alleges that the defendants have infringed Nichia’s U.S. Patent No. 8,530,250. Nichia seeks an injunction directed to the sale and distribution of infringing LCD TVs, such as the “55”Roku TV(55FS3700).” Nichia also seeks damages for defendants' past infringement.

Nichia seeks to protect its patents and other intellectual property rights and takes actions against alleged infringers in any country where appropriate and necessary.
