Epistar in Talks with China’s Local Governments and Lighting Companies to Supply LEDs for Streetlights

Epistar Corp, Taiwan’s largest LED provider, is now in talks with Chinese lighting manufacturers and local governments about some investment projects said the comany.

The LED streetlight installation projects have been launched in several cities in China, which has boosted the country’s LED lighting market substantially. To step into the market in mainland China, Epistar is now in talks with municipal governments in Beijing and Chongqing and some local lighting manufacturers to supply LEDs used in the streetlight installation projects, according to Epistar’s spokesman Rider Chang.

Epistar is also interested in Chinese investment in the company, said Chang. Current clients are likely strategic investment partners, he said, without disclosing interested parties.
