The LED professional Symposium +Expo (LpS), known as a point of reference for technical lighting professionals dealing with LED and OLED lighting components, modules and systems, took place for the 5th time this year. Over 100 exhibitors showed their latest developments in the growing exhibition. Hubbell Lighting, a world leader in lighting innovation, announced that Columbia Lighting has added three new higher lumen packages to its popular LLHV VersaBay® LED High Bay fixture for higher mounting heights. GE Lighting has completed the installation of energy efficient LED lighting in Al Ain Municipality in Abu Dhabi, as part of an agreement to provide energy efficient solutions for the municipality's public lighting project. The project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 234,000 kg per year.

Silver Spring Networks announced it has been selected to deliver an intelligent LED street lights network in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Silver Spring Networks will be deploying its award-winning smart street lights solution, including its Streetlight.Vision control software, to network 43,000 LED luminaires provided by LED Roadway Lighting, a manufacturer of smart lighting systems. Halifax is the capital city of Nova Scotia and, with more than 400,000 residents and geographic area covering almost 2,500 square miles, is the largest municipal area in Canada’s maritime province region.
