SETI teamed up with Kyma Technologies to develop deep UV LEDs and optoelectronics

US Sensor Electronic Technology Inc (SETI)has teamed up with semiconductor materials supplier Kyma Technologies to create low-defect AlGaN substrates for use in next-generation deep UV LEDs and optoelectronics.

SETI used deep UV LEDs in high-power applications such as water disinfection, with the company having recently created a prototype all-LED based portable water disinfection system.

Besides, this technology can also be used in diverse applications such as bio-detection, medical diagnosis and short-range communications.
