Kyma Supports Veeco for LED Development Project

As Veeco received $4 million from the US government, Kyma Technologies, a global supplier of crystalline nitride semiconductor materials, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, has cooperated with Veeco in a next generation LED manufacturing equipment development project. Kyma Technologies will be supplying material and services to Veeco as part of this development project. Kyma Designed the World’s First 300mm Diameter AlN-on-Si Template for GaN

Kyma Technologies Inc of Raleigh, NC, USA, has made a breakthrough on its new high-volume AlN template manufacturing tool by producing what is said to be the world’s first 300mm (12-inch) diameter AlN-on-silicon template for GaN. It claims that its process is the first that is capable of direct insertion into existing LED and power device production processes that grow GaN and related alloys such as InGaN and AlGaN. SETI teamed up with Kyma Technologies to develop deep UV LEDs and optoelectronics

US Sensor Electronic Technology Inc (SETI)has teamed up with semiconductor materials supplier Kyma Technologies to create low-defect AlGaN substrates for use in next-generation deep UV LEDs and optoelectronics. SETI used deep UV LEDs in high-power applications such as water disinfection, with the company having recently created a prototype all-LED based portable water disinfection system.
