High Tech Lights has designed and developed, and is now manufacturing, a vastly improved version of the T8 fluorescent light bulb. High Tech Lights manufactures LED bulbs designed to replace traditional fluorescent and incandescent bulbs. Not only do High Tech Lights bulbs offer significant savings over traditional bulbs, but they don’t contain any mercury or lead, according to the founder and CEO, Tony Jones. In fact, the United States Environmental Protection Agency classifies fluorescent lighting as hazardous waste, because of its high mercury content.
Typical fluorescent light bulbs use approximately 32-40 watts, while the T8 LED lamps developed by High Tech Lights only use 17 watts. The lamps are UL listed, and available in cool white, natural white, or warm white. They have a unique oval-shape, as opposed to the typical round style. This more efficiently helps dissipate heat, of which there is very little to begin with since LED technology “runs cool” compared to fluorescent or incandescent lighting.
The best way to compare different types of lighting options is to compare the lumens/watt ratio. The lumens/watt ratio of a High Tech Lights LED can be up to 5 times greater than a traditional fluorescent. That is because watts relate to energy usage, while lumens relate to brightness. This means High Tech Lights LED bulbs offer the same brightness to the human eye using much less wattage.
High Tech Lights’ LED tubes also last 5 times longer than florescent lights (50,000 hours for an LED tube compared to about 10,000 hours for a florescent). Most importantly, High Tech Lights offers a 5-year warranty on all of its products - based on the bulb being on all the time -24 hours a day/7days a week.
