Global Lighting Technologies demonstrating new 8” x 4’ LED-based edge- lit ceiling light at LFI 2012

Designed for office and institutional use (e.g., schools, public buildings), and particularly effective for hallway lighting due to its narrow width (8”), this recessed ceiling light is edge lit by a light guide utilizing 100 white LEDs spaced strategically along 1 edge of the light guide plate (LPG).  It is available in 4 color temperatures ranging from warm white (at 3000K) to cool white (at 6000K).  Luminous flux ranges from 2448 Lm (warm white) to 3000 Lm (cool white).  CRI is ≥ 75%, lifetime is 30,000 hours, and weight is 3.5 kg. It provides an ideal replacement for fluorescent tube fixtures with all the advantages of LEDs at an economical cost.  Volume pricing is in the $125 per unit range .
