Edison Opto Launches EdiPower II HM Series and CA Series

In the past few years, LED has become a new darling in lighting market due to its outstanding color saturation and long lifetime. However, the problems of luminous efficacy, heat dissipation and high cost still need to be improved. In recent years, there emerges a new package method in the industry─COB package and it can meet the application demands for LED lighting market. Different from the traditional SMD package, COB package is to encapsulate single or multiple chips directly on aluminum substrate and it can strengthen the performance of LED heat dissipation. Due to the advantages of low thermal resistance, low assembly costs and excellent light uniformity, COB package has become an overwhelming trend in high power LED and has been widely applied in lighting market.

In view of the market trends, the Taiwanese leading LED lighting manufacture, Edison Opto launched all series COB products, such as 7~35 Watt high efficacy EdiPower II HR series and 3.5~30 Watt high brightness HS series in 2012. Recently, Edison Opto has also unveiled EdiPower II HM series and CA series for different operating powers and different colors. The 9~60 Watt EdiPower II HM series is based on the mirror-like MCPCB which features excellent reflectivity and luminous efficacy. Under 700mA, it can reach 3200lm in cool white (equivalent to 126lm/W). In addition, Edison Opto’s 3.5~7 Watt EdiPower II CA series is based on the ceramic substrate which can provide better thermal dissipation performance. Under 4 Watt (200mA), EdiPower II CA series can reach 385lm in warm white with CRI 80. Because the mirror-like MCPCB and ceramic substrate both contain no silver, EdiPower II HM series and CA series can free from the appearance of sulfuration. Consequently, it increases the reliability of EdiPower II HM series and CA series.

The high performance COB products can be applied in many fields such as LEDs light bulb, down lights, track lights, residential lighting and commercial lighting fixtures. Last year, Edison Opto introduced many high lm/$, high efficacy and more energy-efficient products. Looking into 2013, Edison Opto will continue its innovative spirit to develop new products which can satisfy the market demands. Moreover, with its unique LDMS service program, Edison Opto will provide customers with a complete solution from components, modules to luminaires.
