MaxLite®, a global marketer and manufacturer of energy efficient lighting and lamps, has developed a complete line of energy efficient lighting solutions for pedestrian areas of sports venues and entertainment arenas.
Ideal for illuminating tunnels and corridors in venues, MaxLite’s 40-watt LED Wall Packs replace 175-watt metal halide fixtures while the 60-watt LED Canopy Lights replace inefficient 250-watt metal halide fixtures. MaxLite’s full-cutoff LED 40-watt Wall Packs are DesignLights™ Consortium (DLC)-qualified and designed and engineered as maintenance free. These full cutoff LED Wall Packs eliminate upward illumination while delivering over 3,000 lumens to effectively illuminate walkways and corridors. MaxLite’s energy efficient LED Ceiling Canopy Fixtures promote uncompromising safety and security with a full flood beam angle and deliver excellent light and continuous energy savings.
Both LED Wall Packs and Ceiling Canopy Fixtures offer a 5000K (daylight) correlated color temperature (CCT) with a maximum brightness and a long life of 50,000 hours, and are backed by MaxLite’s five-year limited warranty. These lightweight fixtures can be installed quickly and conveniently, in 30 minutes or less per fixture, while saving significant energy and maintenance costs.
“MaxLite is able to light entire facilities, inside and out, at entertainment and concert venues, baseball parks, football stadium and city walks,” said MaxLite’s Vice President of Product Marketing and Engineering Pat Treadway. “Additionally, these products can be purchased through MaxLite and financed in large part through utility rebates of up to $250 per fixture nationwide.”
Bmore Green, a full-service renewable energy company based in Maryland, installed MaxLite fixtures at a local sports stadium. In this Maryland venue installation, the facility replaced 73 240-watt metal halide wall packs with an equal amount of MaxLite’s 40-watt LED Wall Packs. In a one-for-one replacement, the facility also replaced 60 400-watt metal halide canopy fixtures with 70-watt canopy fixtures. The LED fixtures will save almost two million kWh of energy and $285,375 in energy and maintenance costs throughout the life of the fixtures. Additionally, the fixtures were purchased with a $250 per fixture rebate through Pepco, for an additional savings of $33,250 in upfront costs.
