Apple fans might be slightly disappointed to note the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 launch date might be pushed back to 2015, according to an Apple Insider report.
The report cited KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo saying, Apple is already facing manufacturing issues with the smaller 4.7-inch iPhone 6 related to the new technology for the in-cell touch panel and color unevenness on the iPhone 6 metal casing. All these issues are said to be magnified in the larger 5.5-inch model.
Moreover, Kuo does not expect the 5.5-inch sapphire front panel could “easily pass the drop test near term.”
With all the above technical issues that could delay the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 launch date, Kuo projected Apple might delay launch of the larger version iPhone to 2015. Kuo also recently forecasted the iWatch launch date will be pushed back to December 2014 because of mass production issues.
