North Korea recently invented a new green LED glasses which can adjust to human circadian rhythm, according to a local Choson Sinbo’s report on Tuesday.
The green LED glasses are useful for travelers and athletes who have to move across time zones to prevent disruptions in their circadian rhythm.
The glasses were invented by a group of researchers from Kim II-Sung University with the purpose of preventing humans from being affected by changes in circadian rhythm, according to the report. The glasses release a kind of green LED light and once the light beam makes contact with human eyes, it will stimulate or suppress the production of sleep hormones. This in turn can restore circadian rhythm.

Athletes are often troubled with jet lags while traveling abroad to attend sports events. However, things might be different if they can apply the green LED glasses before and after the flight 30 minutes every day - their bodies can adjust to local time and overcome jet lags, having a better performance in competition, researchers said. Moreover, the glasses are also very handy for patients with sleeping disorder, irregular sleepers and frequent travelers.
The glasses have been through clinical trials to prove to be efficient, according to the report. The glasses made its debut in a lot of exhibitions in North Korea and has received much attention from consumers.
