First Romania Building Upgrades to Smart LED Lighting System

Greentek LED Lighting, producer and provider of LED lighting systems, designed and implemented the intelligent lighting project for the office spaces in AFI Park 2, which became the first building in Romania to be exclusively equipped with a LED intelligent lighting system.

For the office spaces in AFI Park 2, Greentek offered a solution at the sharp end with the latest LED lamps, as well as software for the intelligent management of lighting. This custom made system recognizes the decrease in intensity of the natural light and commands the increase in the intensity of LED lighting.

With the implementation of the Greentek solution, AFI Park 2 became the first building in Romania to be exclusively equipped with a LED intelligent lighting system.

“Illuminating the office spaces in AFI Park 2 was designed with almost 2,000 LEDs, 30% fewer than the necessary amount, had they chosen a traditional solution with fluorescent lamps”, said Victor Cotrutz, CEO and founder Greentek LED Lighting. “The intelligent lighting control system made possible savings in energy of up to 85% and a decrease in energy consumption of 70%. Moreover, maintenance costs are zero, as the general warranty is for five years. We calculated that the introduction of the new LED lighting system provided by Greentek will lead to around EUR 100,000 savings each years”, explained Victor Cotrutz.

AFI Park 2 is situated in the immediate proximity of AFI Palace Cotroceni shopping center and it has a surface of approximately 12,000 square meters of offices. AFI Park 2 was delivered in the second part of 2014. Each space offers the appropriate lighting, at the necessary intensity for every moment’s conditions. Greentek provided an intelligent control system that reduces the human intervention in operation and contributes to the reduction in energy consumption.

LED lamps are produced by Greentek in its factory at Iași, Romania. LED technology produced by Greentek is defined by efficient energy use, luminous efficacy, variable intensity, resistance to high temperature variations and humidity and a longer life spam than similar products.
