MaxLite announces that StaxMAX, the company’s modular LED flood light, now carries a 3G vibration rating that conforms to standards for roadway and area lighting set forth by ANSI C136.31 on its ELLF405UXXX models. The StaxMAX tested was the heaviest fixture configuration, a triple LED module mounted with an arch yoke bracket.
The high-output fixture has passed a rigorous series of tests conducted by UL to verify the luminaire’s ability to withstand the repeated wind- and traffic-induced vibration conditions that may be encountered in stressful environments such as bridges, overpasses and roadways.

Designed with three optical distributions and independently pivoting modules, the StaxMAX allows consumers to create custom distribution packages by mixing modules on a single fixture. The StaxMAX can be specified in one-, two- or three- 135-watt modules, or in a triple 180-watt module. Each of the three modules can have a narrow, medium or wide beam angle, allowing users to have all three optics in one luminaire. In total, the StaxMAX is capable of replacing metal halide fixtures rated up to 1500W. The fixture mounts using an arch yoke, high bay bracket or pole tenon accessory, providing multiple applications within a single facility. Certified by DesignLights Consortium (DLC), the StaxMAX delivers from 11,760 lumens up to 56,910 lumens and qualifies for significant utility rebates nationwide.
“The StaxMAX offers unprecedented flexibility for area and flood lighting by allowing designers to achieve multidirectional illumination and multiple beam angles from a single mounting point,” said Product Manager Francisco Garza. “With the addition of its use in this application, as well as hazardous locations, the StaxMAX truly is the most versatile and powerful outdoor fixture on the market.”
In addition to roadways, the StaxMAX is designed and engineered for use in a multitude of general area, architectural and security lighting applications, including parking lots, car dealerships, sports parks, facades and marine harbors. The uniquely customizable fixture is also offered in flood and high bay versions rated for use in Class 1, Division II (C1D2) spaces, hazardous locations such as gasoline storage and dispensing areas. The fixture is constructed of a durable die cast aluminum body and tempered glass lens that protects the module against dirt, dust and water ingress to an IP65 rating. Multiple circuits guard against full-module light outages. A 4kV integral surge protection for the driver is provided as standard; a 20kV surge protection option is available. The StaxMAX is offered in a correlated color temperature of 5000K. A 4000K version is available as a custom order.
