Consumers of Delhi will be given 9W LED bulbs under the Government of India's Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) scheme, stated Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) in a statement.

EESL is to sign a MoU with the Department of post in order to reach to a larger group of consumers. Each energy efficient bulb enables consumers to save in between INR 160 to INR 400 every year. They are designed to last for 25,000 hours while require the minimum maintenance. The cost of purchasing these LED bulbs can be paid off within one year or even less. The Ujala scheme is to be deployed in 87 spots in the city.
