From Sept. 20–22, 2016 Instrument Systems will be informing visitors at the LED professional Symposium in Bregenz, Austria, about goniophotometric measurement solutions for solid-state lighting. A special focus will be placed on the topics of energy efficiency, CIE S 025 and IES TM-30-15.

Applications for highly accurate and fast testing of medium-sized LED sources according to the EU Eco-Design Directive will be demonstrated on the LGS 350 goniometer. By virtue of its new design, the latter results in an 85% increase in the travel speed of the y-axis to 34°/s. The top speed of 0.25 m/s permitted by CIE S 025 is thus possible for a large number of LED sample sizes. Compared to previous measurement solutions, for the user this means greatly increased throughput with consistently high measurement precision. Combined with SpecWin Pro, new colorimetric evaluations, e.g. TM 30-15 (improved CRI definition for color rendering) are now possible in addition to classical color analysis. Besides the two characteristics fidelity and gamut index, graphical analyses by Hue Bin tables and color vector graphics are also employed.
In addition to the product presentation in the exhibition hall, Instrument Systems will be offering a workshop on the subject of solid-state lighting measurements together with TÜV SÜD. At 12:30 pm on 22 September interested visitors will have an opportunity to listen to applications engineer Dr. Denan Konjhodzic talking about SSL measurements and CIE S 025, and subsequently witness the possibilities in a practical demonstration. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and light measurement technology experts. www.instrumentsystems.com
