MaxLite announces the expansion of the WallMax® product family with the Precision, an architectural-grade LED wall pack with a modular housing and external battery backup option across all wattages.
MaxLite offers the Precision series in a range of equivalencies to replace traditional 175- to 400-watt wall metal halide fixtures on the exteriors of commercial buildings, retail centers, schools, residential complexes and other locations that require powerful perimeter lighting with a contemporary appearance. Available in 30-, 60- or 90-watt configurations, Precision wall packs feature a modular housing design that accommodates popular external battery backup options to meet National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. The series is DesignLights Consortium (DLC) qualified and comes supported by a 10-year limited warranty.

With an output range of 3,000 to 8,600 lumens, MaxLite Precision wall packs provide a wider coverage area and significantly more forward throw than standard cutoff fixtures, enabling comparable illumination to be achieved with fewer fixtures. At mounting heights of 6 meters (20 feet), the 60-watt model covers an area 9.14 meter (30 feet) long by 24.38 meter (80 feet) wide, compared to a 55-watt standard cutoff wall pack, which has just 25 feet (7.62 meter) of forward throw and 15.24 meter (50-foot) wide coverage. Unlike standard fixtures, the Precision wall pack has a Type II beam distribution, which results in a longer, broader distribution pattern and reduced backlight.
“The Precision Series represents a unique design approach that combines architectural features with durability and affordability previously associated only with commodity-grade wall packs,” said Eric Fournier, director of outdoor product management. “Through innovative product development, we are able to provide a consistent housing size and battery backup across all wattages while maximizing lumen output and efficiency.”
Constructed with a 43.18 centimeters (17-inch) long, rust and corrosion proof housing, the Precision wall pack covers the footprint of most incumbent fixtures for a seamless retrofit. The wall pack is designed with an angled window that enables the integration of photocell and motion sensors without lumen interference. All models are dimmable, for additional energy savings. The series is offered in 120-277 and 347-480 voltages.
Precision wall packs consume 77% less energy than metal halide fixtures and deliver a quick return on investment, with a payback period of just 1.5 years, even without utility rebates.* Additionally, the wall packs offer superior longevity, providing 100,000 hours of lumen maintenance at L70 standards.
