Jack joins Telensa from PowerSecure Inc., part of Southern Company, where he was Director of Roadway Lighting and Smart City Solutions. Responsible for all sales, marketing and business development activities, he pioneered a number of smart street lighting projects that combined LED conversion with smart connected applications.
Prior to that Jack held key roles at NORESCO, part of United Technologies Corp, a leading Energy Service Company (ESCO) in the US, where he led energy efficiency projects across Government, Municipal and Commercial sectors.
“Municipalities across North America are demanding more from their infrastructure – such as connected smart applications that improve citizens’ lives and deliver lower energy use and sustained cost savings,” said Jack Hanley. “ESCOs and Utilities are stepping-up to the challenge, and increasingly they are looking to Telensa technology to make it work at scale.”
“Jack brings extensive commercial leadership experience in the smart utility and energy services markets,” said Will Gibson, CCO Telensa. “This will be key as we respond to unprecedented demand in the North American market.”
Industry analyst Northeast Group recently named Telensa as the clear global market share leader in smart street lighting systems, ahead of brands such as Silver Spring Networks, GE and Philips. Telensa’s success is built on a robust end-to-end solution, with a proven business case built on energy and maintenance cost savings for city and utility customers. Telensa PLANet wireless controls future-proof investments in LED street lighting, enabling localized customization of lighting levels and providing a city-wide platform for hosting smart city sensor applications.
