Project
The 1,800 square foot Barn underwent a complete renovation, which included rewiring the entire building. This provided a blank canvas for the lighting design, and it was Ecoled’s discreet and powerful range that was chosen for the project, which was manufactured using Bridgelux arrays.

Challenges
-
The open plan design of the Barn meant the lighting needed to be powerful enough to light every area of the vast space, whilst not having to scatter numerous amounts of lights across the ceiling.
-
The client needed enough light in the lounge for reading, but didn’t want to compromise this by having a glare off of the TV.
Solution
-
Bridgelux Vero® Series
-
The Zep 6 range provides enough output to offer general lighting, whilst the miniature, trimless design does not overbear the layout of the space and blends well with the natural light.
-
The modularity of the Zep 3 range allows users to customize the uplights to suit their setting and purpose, providing the optimum visual comfort.
-
The black Zep 6 Eyeconic downlight was specified in the lounge to soften the light in this area.

Benefits
-
The flexible, modular range offers both practicality and aesthetics ideal for creating comfort in different settings.
-
Narrow beam Zep 3 inground darklights were designed into the property to highlight the feature staircase, whilst keeping it safe to walk up.
-
The client now has full control over the dimming using DALI dimming control and a Mode control system so that every unit can be changed to suit the desired setting, a perfect way to create different room environments in an open plan space.

Quote
“Ecoled offers one of the most modular ranges of LED products in the market and their fittings are available in a range of bespoke finishes. This gave us plenty of flexibility with our lighting design and meant that we could incorporate the luminaires to complement the interior and architectural features of our space. The discreetness of the fittings subtly adds an element of depth to the open plan design of the space, whilst their power output is uncompromized by their miniature design. Our house is now brought to life when lit and we can control the lighting to suit our desired mood.”
