MOSCOT Eyecare Fashion Shops utilize cool Chandel-Air fixtures by Meyda Custom Lighting

"We were looking for a fixture that aligned with MOSCOT's design vocabulary and brand aesthetic," says 4th Generation Owner Dr. Harvey Moscot of MOSCOT eyewear fashion shops. "A fixture that was classic, yet modern and provided both ambient and direct lighting; an iconic piece.

“The Meyda Chandel-Air neatly fit all our design criteria, combining a visually kinetic element with the benefits of a ceiling fan,” continued Mr. Moscot. “The flat cylindrical shape illuminates our counters wonderfully, while providing the perfect focal point. The fixtures have made a significant contribution to creating a memorable experience for our customers—many who have made favorable comments about the lights.”

The fixtures were installed at the MOSCOT flagship Orchard Street Shop in New York’s Lower East Side, the Court Street Shop in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, the Beak Street Shop in Carnaby, London, and most recently, in the Manhattan Chelsea location.

“Our MOSCOT Shops seamlessly blend the old and new — our five generation, 101-year-long history, with the latest in eyecare technology,” stated Mr. Moscot. “Chandel-Air lighting fixtures are a perfect reflection of our eclectic aesthetic and as a result, have become a centerpiece in our shop's design."

The 44-inch Maplewood Beige Chandel-Airs are handcrafted by highly skilled artisans in the Meyda Custom Lighting manufacturing facility in Yorkville, New York at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Integral energy efficient LED illumination brings out the beauty of the shade while LED downlights provide functional lighting. In the summer, the fan pushes down a windchill that circulates to keep the space cool and comfortable. In winter, the fan is reversed to pull the air up towards the ceiling and force warm air back down and circulate to create warmth.
