Swedish Grower Invests in Heliospectra’s LED Horticulture Lighting Solution

Heliospectra announced that a Swedish vertical farming company, Ljusgårda AB, has placed a SEK 1.3 million (US$ 143,552) order for LED lighting solution of Heliospectra.

Ljusgårda AB is located in Tibro, Sweden. The company has transformed an old local factory into an indoor controlled environment facility which measurs 7000 square meters with a capacity for producing over 1000 tons of food per year. Through hydroponic vertical cultivation and the deployment of high efficient LED lighting, the crops can be grown year round and pesticides free.

Andreas Wilhelmsson, CEO of Ljusgårda, said, "Our goal is to produce tasty high-quality vegetables that our customers can eat with a good conscience. No pesticides, low water consumption and a 100% renewable energy, and since the products are locally produced, we avoid long transports and emission."

Growing food under controlled environment, Heliospectra's growing lights play a key role as the system enables growers to adjust different light spectrum to meet the needs of various crops. Ljusgårda can create an optimal environment to accelerate harvest and enhance yields for high-quality production year-round, which is challenging for Sweden given its tough weather conditions.

Delivery from Heliospectra will take place and be visible in the accounts during the third and fourth quarter of 2018.
