Epistar Reports Lukewarm Revenue due to Inventory

In the beginning of 3Q18, Epistar’s revenue report did not match its expectation. The company registered a revenue of NT$ 1.81 billion (US$ 58.87 million) for July, down by 0.1% MoM and 19.36% YoY.

Epistar has indicated that by the third quarter, the orders should rise up as the on-hand inventory of its clients should be finished and the big sales events for Thanksgiving and Christmas are approaching. The company expects the orders for backlighting and lighting to increase in August.

Mini LED progress is still on the move with gaming products to be released in Q4 expectedly. Epistar forecasts Mini LED products will bring significant contribution for the revenue of the company.

Epistar also processes outsourced VCSEL and expects small shipments to its 6-inch clients by Q4.
