Luminus Releases Horticulture LEDs Targeting Cannabis Production

US-based LED lighting producer Luminus has released its new horticulture COB LEDs which are designed for enhancing the growth of cannabis with special spectrums.

According to Luminus, the new COB LEDs are suitable for crops that require sufficient light during the growth period as they offer high PPF output combined with excellent efficacy. The new COB LEDs come with two spectra; one is with a phosphor-converted Deep Red spectrum with 1:1 Blue to Deep Red intensity ratio and the other one has a 1:2 Blue to Deep Red intensity ratio.

“Beyond the cannabis market, the need for improved crop yields is more important than ever, and our new horticulture COBs enable innovative luminaires that directly address the market’s needs. With the ability to customize spectra to specific crops or classes of crops, we foresee a portfolio that supports growers around the world,” said Yves Bertic, Senior Director of Global Product Marketing at Luminus.

The company expects to expand its horticulture products by adding new package types and spectrums for growers to maximize their production yields with sustainable and cost effective methods.
