Lighting Projects in UK: Ecolighting for Warehouse and Fitzgerald for College Sports Hall

Converting conventional lighting to LED luminaires for buildings, warehouses and public areas is still an on-going trend all over the world. UK-based lighting companies, Ecolighting and Fitzgerald Lighting posted their lighting projects for a logistic group and sports hall.

Ecolighting is progressing LED lighting installation at Bibby Distribution sites across the country following the logistic company’s project of upgrading the previous fluorescent systems.

At Bibby Distribution’s Wakefield warehouse, Ecolighting installed its Pegasus LEDs to replace the original T5 fittings. Six 250w Pegasus LED luminaires per aisle now provide an improved light level and work alongside the Altos emergency LED high bay sensors which make savings based on the level of activity. Ecolighting has also installed nine of its Medusa LED amenity luminaires outside the building and in the car park and HGV yard.

Ecolighting’s Pegasus uses an Osram driver and top quality Osram LEDs to give 166 lumens per watt and up to 80 percent energy saving in installations. The LED converting project will help Bibby distribution to save more than £88,000 (US$ 114,770) in energy cost.

Fitzgerald Lighting has recently been involved in the installation of a new LED lighting scheme at the sports hall of Nescot College in Surrey, UK. Fitzgerald Lighting’s Hi Sport LED luminaire was recommended by Surrey based wholesalers Spring Electrical and installed by local company Get Connected Electrical Contractors Ltd.

The contractor selected Fitzgerald Lighting’s 105W Hi Sport LED luminaire for the project as they could be easily installed into the pitch of the ceiling and meet the required lux levels for an indoor sports hall.

The LED Hi Sport is designed for indoor sports environments with its body shape manufactured to minimize the chance of trapping sports balls and other equipment. A diffuser shields the LEDs to reduce glare distraction during high performance sports events and the luminaire also features a wire guard as standard. Designed for surface or suspension mounting, the Hi Sport luminaire features swivel adjustment and has a shock resistant gear tray. Optional features can be specified including 1–10V dimming, DALI dimming and integral three-hour maintained emergency lighting.
